Inclusive Workplace Consulting & Training

Building a genuinely inclusive workplace takes more than good intentions. It requires honest diagnosis, coherent strategy, and programmes that build real capability across your organisation. At Catalyse, we work with organisations across Singapore and the APAC region to understand where they are, identify what needs to change, and put the right interventions in place – whether that is consulting, training, or both.

Our work in this area spans two interconnected offerings.

Inclusive Workplace Consulting

Inclusion does not happen by accident. It requires a clear-eyed assessment of where your organisation stands, a practical strategy for change, and sustained commitment from leadership.

We work with organisations to design and implement inclusion strategies that are grounded in data, aligned with your culture and values, and designed for the APAC context — not adapted from Western frameworks.

Inclusive Workplace Training

Building a genuinely inclusive workplace takes more than good intentions. It takes shared language, honest conversations, and the practical skills to show up differently, every day, at every level of the organisation.

Our inclusive workplace training programmes are designed to do exactly that. We go beyond awareness to build real capability, helping employees, managers, and leaders recognise bias, navigate difference, communicate across cultures, and take meaningful action as allies and bystanders. Every programme is interactive, grounded in real-world scenarios, and tailored to the APAC context rather than adapted from Western frameworks.

Whether your organisation is taking its first steps on an inclusion journey or looking to deepen existing commitments, our workshops meet people where they are and equip them with tools they can use the very next day.

  • Building Inclusive Teams for Leaders

Our Workshops

Foundations

One of our most requested workshops. Participants explore what constitutes harassment and discrimination in the Singapore workplace context, learn to recognise warning signs, and develop the skills to respond confidently when boundaries are crossed. Available as separate sessions for employees, managers and senior leaders, each calibrated to the responsibilities of that audience. Aligned with WFA and TAFEP guidelines.

Going beyond the basics, this workshop deepens understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, and equips participants with the tools to interrupt exclusionary behaviours and practise everyday allyship. Through identity exploration, real workplace scenarios, and practical tools for handling missteps and offering genuine repair, participants examine how their individual choices shape the environment around them. Whether supporting a colleague, collaborating across teams, or standing up against bias, participants leave knowing how their actions can make a measurable difference.

Decision-Making & Bias

Bias is part of being human. Left unchecked, it quietly shapes decisions, limits opportunities, and erodes trust. This workshop guides participants through Catalyse’s Recognise, Realise, Respond framework, building awareness of the biases and stereotypes that show up in everyday interactions, understanding their real impact on individuals and team culture, and applying practical strategies to interrupt bias in themselves and others. Engaging, honest, and immediately applicable.

The moments that matter most in an employee’s career, being hired, appraised, and promoted, are also the moments where unconscious bias is most likely to creep in. This workshop dives into how bias distorts decisions at these critical junctures. Through real-world scenarios, group discussion, and structured reflection, participants learn to spot bias in hiring and performance processes, apply practical techniques to make fairer decisions, and address bias constructively when they encounter it in others.

Workplace Dynamics

In teams that span cultures, time zones, and backgrounds, communication is about much more than what we say. It is about how it is received. This workshop builds the cross-cultural agility needed to collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and partners from different backgrounds. Participants explore cultural dimensions, practise empathetic communication and active listening, and develop the cultural humility needed to create environments where all perspectives are genuinely heard and valued.

Today’s workplace can have up to five generations working side by side, each with their own values, communication styles, and expectations. Research shows that 60% of workers report the presence of generational conflict, yet this diversity is also one of the greatest untapped assets in any organisation. This workshop helps participants recognise generational bias, understand what different generations bring to the table, and develop strategies to bridge divides and build more collaborative, inclusive teams.

Allyship is not a badge you wear. It is an active, ongoing commitment to use your voice and influence to support colleagues who face inequity. This workshop moves participants beyond good intentions into meaningful action, exploring what allyship really looks like in a diverse Asian workplace context. Through reflective activities, real case studies, and practical frameworks, participants learn to recognise inequities, address microaggressions, and show up consistently for colleagues from underrepresented groups.

Designed specifically for male leaders, this workshop positions allyship as a leadership responsibility rather than an optional extra. Participants examine gender bias, social conditioning, and the structural barriers that often go unnoticed in organisations, creating space for honest dialogue about power, privilege, and accountability. By the end of the session, participants can articulate their specific role in supporting women’s advancement and leave with tangible allyship commitments they can act on immediately.

Rooted in Nonviolent Communication and informed by neuroscience, this workshop introduces a communication framework that builds deeper connection, trust, and collaboration. Participants learn how the nervous system shapes our reactions in difficult conversations, how to listen at a level that uncovers what people really need, and how to express requests in ways that invite rather than demand. For leaders especially, these skills transform how teams navigate tension, disagreement, and change.

Most leaders know they need to address conflict, but few have been formally equipped to do it well. Drawing on the Harvard interest-based conflict resolution model, this workshop gives leaders a structured, practical framework for facilitating conversations that de-escalate tension, surface underlying interests, and build solutions that last. Participants also examine how to manage emotions and power dynamics in high-stakes conversations, leaving with skills they can apply straight away.

A full-day workshop designed for leaders who want to move beyond understanding DEI principles into embedding them into how they lead every day. Participants explore identity, equity, and intersectionality through an experiential lens, practise allyship and bystander skills in realistic scenarios, and develop practical action plans for fostering psychological safety and belonging within their teams. Grounded in evidence-based approaches and the 6 Cs Framework of Inclusive Leadership.

In today’s complex leadership environment, negotiation is far more than closing deals. It is about influencing outcomes, building alignment, and navigating competing priorities across teams and stakeholders. Rooted in the Harvard interest-based negotiation model, this workshop shifts the focus from positional bargaining to collaborative problem-solving. Participants leave with practical tools to negotiate with clarity and confidence, whether influencing upwards, managing cross-functional dynamics, or guiding high-stakes decisions.

Why DEI Matters for Your Organisation

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) are more than just corporate buzzwords—they are essential cultural practices that move beyond surface-level initiatives to build a framework that drives real business impact. Research shows that diverse teams are more innovative and profitable (McKinsey & Company, 2023), while a focus on psychological safety improves employee well-being, engagement, and loyalty.

A strong DEI strategy is also a cornerstone of your ESG goals. By addressing the Social and Governance pillars, you strengthen your company’s reputation, mitigate risk, and demonstrate a commitment to your people and the wider community.

Our work also contributes to the following UN SDGs:

Frequently Asked Questions About Workplace Consulting

What makes Catalyse’s DEI consulting unique?

Our DEI strategy consulting is grounded in a holistic and trauma-informed approach shaped by AWARE’s long-standing research and data from its work with employees, employers, and survivors. This foundation gives us a clear, evidence-based understanding of how workplace harm happens and how meaningful change takes root.

We pair this with our team’s deep expertise in DEI, psychology, organisational development, HR, and legal frameworks. The result is consulting that is practical and sensitive to the realities of your organisation. We focus on prevention, building confidence in navigating workplace issues, and strengthening everyday interactions so your workplace can move toward being more respectful, inclusive, safe and equitable.

How does DEI consulting align with ESG and global sustainability goals?

Our workplace consulting directly strengthens the Social and Governance (S&G) pillars of your ESG strategy. By fostering high psychological safety and systemic equity, we help your organisation contribute to key UN Sustainable Development Goals. Our experts ensure your inclusive policies and DEI reporting aren’t just about compliance, but about driving a business strategy that sustains a fairer, more equitable society.

Can you help us move beyond "checkbox" diversity to achieve measurable business outcomes?

Yes. We specialise in Business Case Creation, where we move beyond surface-level initiatives to craft data-driven narratives. By connecting your DEI efforts to tangible metrics, such as reduced turnover costs, risk mitigation, and enhanced innovation, we help you demonstrate how a RISE culture contributes directly to your bottom line and long-term organisational value.

Do you offer customised DEI programmes for different industries?

Yes. Our team specialises in tailoring programmes to meet the specific needs and realities of different industries and organisational cultures. We take time to understand your context, from workplace dynamics to common challenges, so the content feels relevant, practical, and impactful for your workforce in Singapore and across the wider APAC region.

What industries do you work with?

We partner with a wide range of organisations in Singapore and across the region, including multinational corporations, government agencies, universities, non-profits, and community-based organisations. Our workplace consulting is always customised because every sector has its own culture, pressures, and sensitivities.

Whether we are supporting leaders, HR teams, or entire workforces, we adapt our approach to your unique environment so you can build a workplace culture that is Respectful, Inclusive, Safe and Empathetic for everyone.

Do you have a challenge retaining employees, particularly those which don’t seem to “fit into” your culture? Are all your employees speaking up at work? Do you suspect that many more of your employees can bring their full selves to work? DE&I is a business strategy that enables corporations to create a culture that sustains high psychological safety and systemic change for a more equitable society. It contributes to the Social and Governance pillars of ESG, by contributing to the following UN Sustainable Development Goals:

  1. SDG #3 Good Health and Well-Being
  2. SDG #5 Gender Equality
  3. SDG #10 Reduced Inequalities
  4. SDG #11 Sustainable Cities and Communities
  5. SDG #17 Partnerships for the Goals
